Substance Abuse Prevention experts are hoping to increase awareness of the serious health risks that can result
when a woman drinks alcohol while pregnant.

"If you are pregnant, don't drink. If you drink, don't get pregnant."
Drugs, alcohol, and tobacco are all off limits.

A healthy pregnancy predicts a healthy baby and the best chance for a healthy start in life. Fetal alcohol effects are the most preventable form of developmental disabilities (birth defects). Moore Regional Hospital's Pregnancy Fair is designed to help moms-to-be prepare by providing information about pregnancy, childbirth, baby care and related community services in a fun, informal and relaxed way. The June 18 program will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fair Barn at the Harness Track off Highway 5 in Pinehurst. Experts on prenatal care, pediatrics, childbirth, mother-baby care, neonatal services, breastfeeding and other topics will be available to answer questions. Call 715-2275 for further information.
