Moore Co. Team Receives Coalition Training to Stop Prescription Drug Misuse/Abuse
Medicine Drop is September 25-We Need Your Help!
A team consisting of Drug Free Moore County, the Moore Co Prevention Task Force, and Alcohol & Drug Services just completed a week of training sponsored by the North Carolina Coalition Institute (NCCI) in Winston-Salem. This is the first of four weeks that the Moore Co coalition will attend in the coming year, to create capacity and strengthen the coalition. This has been made possible by a new grant from the state.
You, too, can become involved in the activities of the coalition by attending planning meetings and learning about how you can mobilize your neighbors to stop drug use before it starts. The main goal is “To reduce abuse and misuse of prescription drugs in Moore County”.
September 25 (Saturday) is Operation Medicine Drop in Moore County. Take all your old or surplus medications to a drop off point in your community. Call your local police department or Sheriff’s Office (947-2931) to direct you to the nearest location.
